Jungceylon Patong Shopping Centre
Phuket Shopping | Shopping in the centre of Patong Beach
Jungceylon is much more than just an air conditioned shopping centre. Opened in July 2007 it's diversity of shopping, entertainment, dining and nightlife all come together to reflect the origins behind of it's name.
'Junceylon' was one of the names given to Phuket in the early fifteen hundreds as it became a important port location for traders throughout the Andaman Sea. Developers thought it fitting to resurrect the name when they created a new 200,000 square meter trade and entertainment destination hub. With over 300 Shops and the added convenience of ample parking (largest parking area in Patong beach).
For simplicity the centre can be divided into 4 sections
- Silang Boulevard
- The Port
- Sino Phuket
- Phuket Square
Jungceylon Patong: Silang Boulevard
Silang Boulevard is the front building along the Patong 2nd Road, where you'll find the first of many international fast food eateries like Burger King, Swenson's Ice Cream and Starbucks. Entering on the ground floor you'll find Super Sports & Sports World, fashion boutiques, Spas and Patong's official Apple Store.
Below this section is the Thai Arts & Crafts centre called 'That's Siam' offering authentic Thai Fabrics, Thai arts & handicrafts, Beauty & Spa treatments, Thai Food and even an Art Exhibition and Craft Demonstration zone.
If you manage to make it past the international fast food restaurants without temptation then you'll definitely want to make a visit to the Food Court called officially known as 'Food Haven', you can try food from all parts of Thailand. Taste authentic Thai food from the North, South, East and central Parts of Thailand, some of the food can be spicy but it's very reasonably priced and is a great place to try authentic dishes.
Food Haven is a food court where you buy coupons before selecting your food. If you're not familiar with the food court voucher system you exchange the coupons for the food and drink from the vendors in the food court. Any coupons you have remaining after your meal can be exchanged back into cash before you leave.
Jungceylon Patong: The Port
The Port is the central outdoor section with a gigantic canopy, water and fountains and a 20 meter reproduction of a Chinese Junk Boat. This central area plays host to regular special events from competitions, demonstrations and even fashion shows. As well as a stage area there's even a catwalk that rises out of the water.
Even when there are no special events there's always the Jungceylon Musical Fountain that is synchronized with lights & sound. Plus 5 times a day you can enjoy a mini show projected on to a water screen (show times 1.00pm, 3.00pm, 7.00pm, 9.00pm and 11.00pm).
There's also a central bar area with live music and easy access to one of the two McDonalds in Jungceylon as well as the main restaurant area Sino Phuket.
